Georgie Girl, Orestes, and Leila

These were all for the same client.
The cat and dog, Orestes and Georgie Girl, like to play in the garden, eat herbs, and kill frog and moles. I received a lot of information for potential scenarios and decided that while the animals could be taunting their prey in the picture that dead frogs may not be the cutest thing.

For the dog portrait of Leila the client wanted something more serious. The dog is no longer alive and usually I go with something a little more reserved and serious in this case. I love putting animals in chairs because it feels so much like a traditional portrait.

Sniglet

This awesome commission was for a repeat customer who always asks me to do the pet alternatives like bunnies or in this case a guinea pig. This little guy is really cute and as usual fun to paint.

Manhattan Speciality Coffee Map

(click on images for detail views)

This is a specialty coffee map of Manhattan. While there are many shops cropping up all over the city this is a map of the current best coffee in Manhattan. Because the speciality coffee industry is catching up in NY the rate at which new shops are opening is a bit overwhelming. I do plan to update this map in a year, but if I obsess over it every week or even month it will be overwhelming…and I am running out of space in lower Manhattan.
To purchase this amazing poster click below!
Or if you would like to save the packaging material and you live in the NY area email me and I can have a print available for you at Joe on 9 east 13th street!

“….Charrow, who will be running Robot, Monster & Ghost: New York starting October 31. Our New York office will be specializing in illustration and identity design to start with. God knows what madness it’ll end up with in 2-3 months time. I can’t promise you people anything solid, but I can say with 100% certainty we’ll be flying dragons and burning villages (we’ll spare the wenches, we’re not all bad) by the end of 2011.”

Working a couple of big freelance projects. A little logo work and some full color illustrations of interiors. I am super excited to share the projects when they are done and introduce the you to the companies. Some of the work will be used in formats I have never seen my work in before and I think that will be amazing; I will have pictures.
